Season of Light -or- Season of Fright?

If you are thinking of using candles as part of your holiday decor (or giving candles as gifts), be sure to read this warning from the LAFD.

Nationwide, December has almost twice the number of home candle fires of an average month. Christmas Day was the peak day of the year for home candle fires in 1999 through 2002. New Year's Day and Christmas Eve tied for second during this four year period.

They also give some tips for improved safety if you do decide to burn candles at any time of the year.
