Advent Day 2: Christmas Concerts

Today's Advent goodies are Christmas concerts from the NPR archives to get you into the holiday mood. All are available as streaming audio.

A Chanticleer Christmas (one hour)
...this "orchestra of voices" performs Renaissance Christmas hymns and classic carols under the direction of Joseph Jennings

St. Olaf College History Christmas Festival (two hours)
...the festival features more than 500 student musicians from the famed college choirs and orchestra in a service of hymns, carols, choral works and orchestral selections.
Jazz Piano Christmas (one hour)
...the 2002 Jazz Piano Christmas at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Freddy Cole, Henry Butler, Andrew Hill, Jason Moran and Bill Charlap play swingin' holiday classics.
'And a Little Child Shall Lead Them': Advent Special (one hour)
...the 60-voice ensemble offers a program that includes a cappella singing, works accompanied by organ and familiar hymns. Spoken word segments are interwoven with the music.
The Morehouse-Spelman Christmas Concert (one hour)
In a Christmas celebration of the schools' tradition of singing excellence, the Morehouse and Spelman Glee Clubs perform spirituals, carols and sacred texts from the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
'A Winter's Night' with Ensemble Galilei (one hour)
...traditional holiday brew of early music from Ireland and Scotland ...
