Free Bio-Anime Gaming Cards

Free download for biology-loving gamers and/or game-loving biologists:

The RIKEN Center for Developmental Biology in Kobe, Japan has produced a set of free downloadable game cards "...illustrating basic concepts, such as embryonic stages of development, cell types, various model organisms used in research, and mutations in the fruit fly Drosophila."

The rules look pretty simple, with winners determed by the points on the cards and "special monkey vs. monkey effects". Fun for the whole family!

(I call them "Bio-Anime Cards" because the design of the people on the cards (Student, Vent, Tech, Postdoc, PI and Director) looks a lot like those spooky big-eyed anime cartoons on Adult Swim.)
