A new kind of music

The Wolfram Tones website allows you to automatically generate music based on cellular automata.
WolframTones works by taking simple programs from Wolfram's computational universe, and using music theory and Mathematica algorithms to render them as music. Each program in effect defines a virtual world, with its own special story--and WolframTones captures it as a musical composition.

To generate a composition, just select a style of music. You can modify the instruments, pitchmapping and timing. The resulting "music" can be saved (online) or downloaded as an unique ringtone.
